Newsmeldung von slashCAM: First render test OS X vs. Win XP on Intel Mac Of rob - 6 Apr 2006 10:24:00 After Apple yesterday in a spectacular move the installation of Windows XP on Intel-based Macs released, have surfaced now yielding Render Tests of Mac users who have already installed WIN XP partition. The tests can render suspect that Windows runs at native speed with Macs - so no speed penalty occur against a Certified for Windows PC-Calculator. Since the dual-boot technology called Boot Camp will be integrated as a feature in the next Mac OS X version 10.5 (delivery early 2007), analysts are now going out of rosy times for the hardware sales of Apple. Even Microsoft would have no objection, probably because synonymous one, will be sold two more copies of Windows.

Interssant s.dem above benchmark is that the rendering performance under Mac OS X is higher but the Windows OpenGL stands significantly better performance.
AE on the topic:
Since After Effects is not yet in native form (so-called universal binary), but only exists in PowerPC code running After Effects (if any) currently runs only in the PPC emulation layer (called Apple's "Rosetta") on Intel Macs which is of course with dramatic performance penalties associated.
See:
http://www.barefeats.com/rosetta.html
When the Intel-native version available, however, is unclear since version 7 is just released and announced as the Adobe Creative Suite is that only the next major release then (ie CS3) Intel Mac will natively.
After Effects is one of the s.besten to the PPC optimized Programs and in some cases significantly faster than the Windows counterpart. See:

There remains hope that Adobe is in the appropriate care synonymous the Intel Mac version.

Hi,
So I've been a few days, the new MacBook Pro with 2 GHz. Yesterday I installed XP once, but only with SP1a, which indeed does not work, according to Apple. So I'm up now so almost anything to get run up on it on the W-Lan and the SP2 will not be easy. So I'm just on the search for an originals XP CD with SP2, so I can test EDIUS s.MAC synonymous times, apart from a test without SP2 for the majority of PC users would be falsified. XP has been for me as an Apple user benefits, but if I s.einem the Wi-Fi laptops can not use it is already a reason for me with MAC OS next work. I register again if I have installed XP with SP2.

Hi
So now have XP installed with SP2 and has so far only time to run 3DMark 03. Results were so umd to 4300 points at a Resolutionvon 1280 x 720 pixels, with a MacBook Pro (1GB Ram, 2Ghz, ATI1600: 256GDR3).
A test with Edius still follows.
What is even more gratifying that the Wi-Fi on MacBook even the standard supports 108Mbit (W-Lan Router: Netgear) but, unfortunately, hold only under Windows, because Apple sells it at its Page just as capable of 54Mbit.
See you blad.
