Hi,
After 11 years of video films on MiniDV cassettes, it irritates me now is to buy a new camcorder. The Panasonic HDC-TM900, but the synonymous SonyCX550V I like quite well. But this apart, as is actually with the HD material? At the moment I'm filming 1h and if I bring by Pinnacle Studio 9 on the PC, this film in 1h AVI Bestqualität 12 GB in size. Thus, my PC (Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2 GHz), nor in the Great and the whole get along mostly. But synonymous with long projects (> 45min), jerky, etc. it been to the Time Line
Now we hear everywhere that the HD material on the PCs really are ausreizt's the ultimate interface and rendering. These are my questions:

1080/50p is of the devices with (a peak bit rate of) max. 28 Mbps recorded, this gives rise for 1 hour ~ 12.6 GB, which corresponds to what you're used to of your DV camera (not surprising since DV is working with ~ 25Mbps).

OK, after wievor 12GB. But what is with the Edit / Cut and rendering of HD-shoot? The information on the editing software is always very far "down" kept, but from the very practical use: I can work with the described Pc HD movies or still makes no sense?
And then I do not quite understand when HD movies are the same as the old, then why should the PCs down bludgeon so with cut and rendering?

DV is relatively low and compressed each image is also compressed for themselves. To show an image must see at your PC synonymous read and decode an image and only.
The AVC generate material that most of these camcorders have a single image for ad usually a whole group of pictures (GOP) is decoded, because the compression makes them dependent on each other. This makes the compression synonymous much more efficient than a pure single image compression (like DV).
