I have the videos of my PAL camcorder successfully digitized but now I stand at the following problem on the tube:
I take the images in an electron microscope on video and wants from the video time-lapse movies and times determined.
I use a video output, which - presumably - an NTSC signal.
The video signal will have a Hauppauge WinTV2000 recorded and captured with VirtualDub and save as AVI (an RGB frame grabber is currently not available), see below for details.
The WinTV2000 card can monitor the signal via the composite input record on the PC monitor, which can be saved as AVIs and show again.
The NTSC signal is detected with 29.97 fps.
From the properties of the video file can I change the framerate (29.97 fps), the duration (in minutes) and with VD as the number of frames read.
The specified period then the video is:
Laufzeit1 = number of frames * frame rate (29.97 fps)
This term does not fit with the recording time (Start -> Stop) together!
From start-and end time of the video brings me to:
Laufzeit2 = number of frames * frame rate (25 fps)
without that I think the framerate in the VD had changed.
I change in VD the framerate at 25 fps, the new video has the same number of frames, but it will run 2 is displayed, based on the difference between starting and stopping is very good.
The difference is considerable, and since I AviSynth with certain time ranges should I cut to the appropriate frame numbers calculated.
Apparently, I must reckon with 25 fps or do I make a mistake?
Is the framerate in the AVIs only as a stored value of no significance and the rate is, in fact, already 25 fps?

Details:
The black and white picture is displayed on a RGB monitor (525 lines per document 29.97 fps).
In parallel, there is a device that the RGB lines durchschleift (Polaroid Freeze Frame recorder, which orig. color images on a SW-picture tube and filter on Polaroid film output or small) and also a "monitor output" has. Documents, are absent.
The card takes WinTV2000 monitor the signal via the composite input on, the picture is displayed on the PC monitor, which can be saved as AVIs and play again.
Available formats: 320 * 240 pixels, 29.97fps, as most Cinepak codec, which is a black and white compression possible.

I use a video output, which - presumably - an NTSC signal. Would be good to know what it actually comes out, because that would be the graphics card directly to the correct parameters. There are standards such as synonymous mixed PAL60 or NTSC 4.43.
The NTSC signal is detected with 29.97 fps. Is the picture in color and it does not run through? Then agrees that default very likely.
This term does not fit with the recording time (Start -> Stop) together! You may calculate one or the other program with the duration of the base 25 or 29.97. If it is set somewhere?
