Frage von Creatinside:Hello
unfortunately the search in the forum and the net result.
I have a VOB file has the top and bottom black edges, which I would like to get away. Is there someone I recommend a freeware program so what can? (; Win or Linux) Mind you I only got the VOB but not the whole DVD.
Greetings & Thanks
Michael

That you can not remove because it would alter the standard set Resolutioneiner DVD (PAL 720x576, 720x480 NTSC). One may indeed synonymous other resolutions put to a DVD (352x288 for example), your request but is not among them, because what you would have would be 720x400 (or something).
Therefore not as simple as that.
However, you could remove the black areas and then inflate the Picture to anamorphic picture. Then you'd have to encode all the MPEG2 and new to create a DVD of it.
A better picture because you had not. Only in passing.
Matching software would TMPGenc (for money) or a combination of the Gordian Knot package and an MPEG2 encoder (ffmpeg). The latter way is much more difficult as more Erfrahung is needed. By contrast, every TMPGenc is clear (except perhaps Tuvok).

so
But with the free base Wings Platinum, you can do it easily and for free. (Video clip and re-issue)

Day
thanks for the reply. I have expressed myself imprecisely. I need no more but a normal DVD video file (any format that is listed here http://emmentaler-filmtage.ch/fileadmin/user_upload/diverses/WD_TV_Live_Moegliche_Container_und_Codecs.pdf)
Gruss Michael

Then to handle any case GordianKnot or AutoGK (the one directly next DVD to DivX / XviD or x264) including cropping correctly aligned and compatible final resolution.
