I've bought today a JVC GR-D21E times before and wanted to edit a video s.PC.
Have the DVkabel connected via the Firewire. The calculator does not recognize what has been connected. Do not be synonymous to get software, there is eventuel what was in the net or I have not found anything anywhere else an error?
Have Win XP Home aufn Calculator.

I am not aware that the original cable of JVC have a different layout (Firewire = Standard does not, "as the Manufacturer's pleasure"), but the original could be optimal in the socket of the camcorder (-> quality of Firewire cables, fit fit of the 4 -pol. connector).

additional or special drivers you need not, for there are - unlike USB - a universally valid standard driver (-> OHCI) for audio - and video equipment, which comes standard s.Windows 98 SE so far.
Schau doch mal and click Start> Control Panel> System> Hardware> Device Manager> (now double-click) IEEE1394Bus host controller. There should be something similar to: VIA OHCI compliant IEEE1394 host controller - and without warning triangle.
