Frage von Andre Steiger:Hello,
I wanted to buy shortly a Gleitstativ for my XM2. I liked both the eye is the Glidecam 2000 pro, finally convinced me the demo videos on the website. At a price of around $ 280, I think the price is synonymous in order?
Question: Who has the system and is satisfied (or not)?
What alternatives would also be recommended (price would be all that already amounts less than 400 ¬).
Thanks - Andre.

Hi,
So I allowed myself about 6 months before the Glidecam 2000 Pro for my XM2 (presumably by the same provider), but I'm still not really sure what to make of it.
First of First: yes, the system works and the demo clips are realistic, but I doubt that the recordings were actually made on the bridge without additional tools and so simple, as is shown, it is not (it takes a lot of practice until the part is under control).
My thoughts:
1. How often do you go into the gym ;-)
Longer Steady Shoots are actually feasible only under considerable force efforts, but this is certainly a problem all solutions in the lower price.
Example, I have the Canon Power Battery, and the Canon wide converter weighs on the system with a counterweight and the whole wide kg over 3, which we must keep s.Griff alone and one thing can I assure you: sooner or later there comes to you from the arm. For shoots really accurate in my opinion, we should like to purchase a vest or belt of the neck, because it is optional, with schedule - otherwise it becomes very difficult.
2. The thing with the 2 Hand
So I personally have the biggest problem: we must, while the tripod the 2nd Hand to guide use. With a vest would be a major problem, but no one has to concentrate on keeping constant s.The Height, b) keep the camera straight on and walk casually synonymous still so sensitive, that the movement of the 2nd Hand does not transfer to the tripod - all in all not so easy.
The whole thing is still difficult, for example, if you're s.Meer and light wind dazukommt - a real challenge when 'ne accurate "straight" wants. If there were a set screw in the gimbal to disable the "Insichdrehung" to be, the system is a good Dollyersatz on the road - unfortunately there's not.
3. The rebalancing
Even so, a point: it takes and where it is believed that it was "totaly in balance," one notes that the system begins to oscillate in a light wind. As long as I film indoors, everything works perfectly, but alas, it goes out and it is wind ...
However, once synonymous leads first to the problem: with vest or similar, one could easily encounter this problem.
Conclusion
Reder long short of it: basically the system works, but it requires a good deal of practice and patience. For really accurate shots (I'm very fussy here and compare this with professional recordings), one comes in my opinion, but for the purchase of a vest, etc. not around.
The only reason why I hesitated before purchasing this still is the price and it is inconvenient to travel.
If you are interested, I could tell you yes times to send a couple of short shots that I have with the Tripod + XM2 filmed, anons just let it get to the attempt.
Whether the other systems are better, unfortunately I do not know - because yes, there's very adventurous designs in the electronic bay. The principle is at least akin to the great Glidecam Steadycam from the same home or synonymous of Tiffen, of why it can not be completely off the mark ;-). The Handyman of ABC would probably be synonymous still worth considering - but it is synonymous slightly more expensive and whether the work better, I do not know.
Greeting
January

Hi Andre,
with the keyword "Glidecam" or "Steadicam" You will find many interesting (and sometimes synonymous amusing) posts on this topic.
In some threads are recommended for certain Steadicams, others described the self-construction.
