Infoseite // Gradients from Illustrator / Ebenenbeschnitt

Frage von wontuwontu:

Can it be that AE can not import Illustrator files correctly when it lying levels with courses that do not go over the entire surface of the object?

Following scenario:
A circle in Illustrator with a gradient that goes only over the right half of the circle, so the left does not affect, in AE will import the (trimmed to level) synonymous only half imported, the other half is ignored. Is this a bug?

Thanks and Greetings

What mean exactly? Has the district ever since a fill or visible contour in the left pane? If not, then that would be correct in my view - where nothing is, there's nothing and see the bounding box would be cut correctly. AE used anyway the PDF-compatible data and are in addition to dan so already saved, because PDFs so "geflattened" are. So nothing wrong in that case ...

I can with the Gradient tool and the beginning of the end of course (here radial) set. Now, when are the top outside of the circle (or on the edge of the circle) and the end in the middle of the circle, I have only on one half of a course, the rest (the other half) has the color of the gradient end (center) .

This effect is in Illu regularly used to generate a 3D look is nothing special. The question now is why AE for cutting away part outside the Gradient tool, I do not know the meaning behind it. If someone wants to do without this part, he would simply change the paths accordingly. Asked the other way, must be a course in Illu always run over the whole object so that it can be imported without error in AE? That would in my view, absolutely meaningless restriction ...
