Hi,
please entschudligt my Unwiisenheit still, I am relatively new in the video area ...
following:
I have a sony handycam and then save to SD Card HD movies.
This I import via iMovie on my mac.
Now I would like to save the movies on an external hard drive / archiving and synonymous in this high-quality playback on my PS3 and watch s.HD TV.
Problems I have here:
1st Unfortunately the PS3 does not recognize. Mov data :-(
-> Can be viewed using DiVX Converter or iMovie HD export to DiVX or. Avi export, but I find the quality worse than when I look at the movies, right of the Camera?
How come, then, what file format gives me the same quality as the video format?
2nd Stupidly recognizes the PS3 only MS-DOS FAT-formatted hard disks.
Stupidly recognize my iMovie only MAC-OS-formatted hard disks Extendet as a video archive drive.
That means either I can archive the movies only on my hard drive and the disk can not infect s.der PS3
or I need to copy movies for export of hand again to the external disk. (Quite expensive because I need to copy the data then 2x.
Did you jemdan of a luxury solution for my problems? ;-)

Exporting from iMovie with Quicktime and MPEG4 choose .... in options you can then adjust your quality.
PS would actually accept an mp4 wrapper.
The Mac takes a synonymous PC formatted disk, it needs to come in front of s.MAC have been formatted. Afterward reformat is not to lose (without the data).
Then you can put on the plates.
