) have (a similar problem, hopefully;: My HV30 is s.Mac not detected. Belkin Firewire 800 connection runs over cable (, 9 to 4), Mac runs with X.6, SnowLeopards.
Cam settings to S1:
- SP-Play: A
Cam settings on S2:
- DV output: HDV / DV
Order of connections:
Cable to Mac (and this new Firewire connection)
Cable cam, cam with juice from the can
Cam Switch to Play
(: no more USB -Verbindung/FW-Verbindung s.Mac)
-> Cam is recognized as neither HD nor iMovie

POSTSCRIPT:
The cam is recognized s.MacBook Pro Leo 10.6. However, with another cable, since previous FW input.
The above-mentioned Belkin cable is brand new.

Sorry, I forgot to mention: the problem is still s.iMac. Have now read that the new drivers of the FireWire interface are the supposed cause, at any rate would be synonymous not many burners are detected.
Does anyone have the same experience with cams? And maybe a solution found?

probiers times but with a different fw cable, had a similar problem with fw-400, a cable has not worked another (both with other cable cam ok), possibly canon fw-dependent connection.
