I am thinking to buy me a VX2k or Canon XM2.
And I've just stumbled over an offer of a VX with say and write head 8000 hours. According to the offer yet nothing has been done to it.
However, I have read in a forum that should Sonysagt after 500h of the head to be changed.
What is a good head hours continuous point for the Second Hand. Ebay states eh meisst that only 10-15 tapes were recorded.

Well, that's for an honest seller! ;-) This camcorder are indeed quite robust built, but until it has 8000 hours on the head, a camera must have been through a lot. Is it credible to me this statement seems not to know at least not without further details of the provider. I would buy such a veteran but not more.

This is on ebay always amazing how many people bought relatively expensive cameras and then almost did not want to use. The main problem in this story is anyway that you find these cameras in the head number of hours can not itself, and so the (lack of) honesty of the seller is delivered.
My own VX2100 would now certainly quite draufhaben loose more than 1000 hours and shows no signs of weakness.

I read there was nothing of 8000 hours ... only 80 to 100 (80 -100) and yes it is estimated that only synonymous.
Such a head has about 1000 hours, even if you're lucky 1500th That was mostly it cedes rather are electronic parts in the camera (see the broken viewfinder, etc.).
On cameras where the read head can not hours, one must rely either on it or keep away from purchase. Either you actually get a camera that was really used only rarely, or else the cat gets in the sack.
