No. I think there is no Manufacturer builds now Hi8 equipment.
On tape, there are only eigendlich HDV models. Say they take in HD resolution (1080i) on mini-DV on. A pure PAL MiniDV camera can not HD.

Most Digital8 camcorders can play back Hi8 tapes (and digitize). It is synonymous to the same cassette for the recording used (Digital8 = hi8) for cassettes.

good .. So there is no new Hi8 .. the play for that is her main concern.
naja then I have to persuade them not, at least. it now has 2 options, they remain entwieder ne cam with memory or just cam ne reinpassen where its no longer cartridges:)
