Hello,
since you do not even need a long look at second hand, for the SonyTRV480 there are already new for 400 ¬. The format is the Digital8 camcorder and is synonymous analog Video8 and Hi8-tapes again digitally. So you can transfer the images directly via firewire on the calculator without any additional converters.

Thanks, Mark for the good advice I have subsequently purchased today, the TRV 480 and am thrilled. The Firewire transmission is perfectly on my Power Mac and PC synonymous, and I need any additional capture device.
At first I had before me a used SonyEV-S1000 oderS9000E buy: Now I'm glad that I did not do this because these devices are still a few years old, and then less than the TRV480. Thanks again.

Hello,
I bought one because of this forum synonymous TRV-480 to digitize my old 8mm recordings.
The dubbing on the PC actually works pretty well synonymous, it should burn to DVD and cutting synonymous not be a problem, but I'm not thrilled of the quality time here and now wanted to ask if it is normal that I s. below the screen a 2-3 pixel wide image Störstreifen and s.rechten edge a 3-4 pixel wide green stripes in the picture had :-(
Why might that be?
Antwort von Markus:
Hello "Guest"
This is perfectly normal for analog video recordings, but you have never seen this on television because the picture is there, cut (so-called overscan).
On the computer this disturbed area is suddenly visible, because you get to see (in the preview window the whole picture called underscan) for sale.
You Schaust the film after editing s.Television again, the edge gone. ;-)

Where
Antwort von Markus:
The Overscan describes part of the image that we can not see s.Television. He is an integral part of the video image, so you'll have it synonymous with an A / D converter ever. (If bad, if not).
Imagine the time with a photograph before: Do you have the paper print in your hand, you see the whole picture to the brim. Du is a cream, then a small part hidden by the screen. Works exactly the s.Television synonymous with the video image.
If you want to eliminate the interference, you can in the video editing software to cut the picture so that a thin black border covers the disturbances. - But will you then the synonymous s.Television no longer see, because that is with the Overscanbereich. ;-)

FireWire FAQ">4. Specific Video8 / Hi8 Hello all together,
I have the same problem with my old Video8 tapes. Unfortunately, however, currently niergendwo the Sony TRV480 for sale. During my research I've read somewhere that the old Video8-tapes synonymous with the Sony CCD-TRV238E can be played and copied. Is that true? This camcorder is in fact currently on the market to buy, but I would not like rather a lot of money spend on it, if it does not work. On the other hand however, I have so many old Video8-tapes, the dubbing by a related company would cost me a fortune.
So, I'd be happy if I could help irgenjemand and could call me either a source of supply for the TRV480 or me but it could certainly confirm that it is synonymous with the TRV238.
Thank you very much
Sajumani

Günni Haalo,
is it true that the TRV 480 EV-S1000, EV-S2000 EV-S9000E and is superior in quality?

Antwort von Markus:
... is it true that the TRV 480 EV-S1000, EV-S2000 EV-S9000E and is superior in quality? If the recordings themselves are in order, were saved so no serious signal problems, then this statement is true in most cases.
A blanket Yes or No is obviously not possible, because there are always tapes, which are reproduced in a bad D8 camcorder as a analog recorder. But these are more the exceptions, mostly because of signal problems.
The EV-S9000 here for fifty takes a special position because it is packed with electronics, which ensures a smooth playback. The TBC is first class and even critical of acting signal errors can be eliminated with them. - I think the S9000 is the best quality analog recorders of all time, synonymous in Comparison with SVHS recorders à la Panasonic FS200.

Ask the question: I have seen the SonyDCR-TRV140, I could pretty cheap to purchase, only has USB 2.0 and Firewire no, this is a problem () because of the quality?
And can not play any Digital8 to Hi8 camera movies? Previously, there was no other than the Hi8 cassette.
Has anyone with the DCR-TRV140 experience?
I know there are many issues at once, but I know synonymous that there are very competent people on the move, I can answer my questions super - and I would certainly be very grateful!

I have now found a list (here in the forum) the D8 cameras that can play the Hi8, just because it lacks the TRV-140E, but I suppose it would need to be synonymous with her, at least I hope so

It
has Firewire (out), USB, yes, but probably not 2, because only in the manual of "USB" is mentioned.
For this they can stream synonymous with USB, on a reasonable PC is that even with very acceptable quality.

So I do not know if you can buy there really still such devices. Would be great. But since Austria s.SonyDeutschland depends, I have my doubts. Den of Sony Austria came only towards the end of this week's statement that the last Digital 8 models made with just New Year from the program have been his.
And whether there will be new models - well, I have my doubts. Is indeed a dying technology.
So if you still need such a device, and where one finds, it should probably strike.
