Maybe I'm clueless stand yes, but ..
So, I plan to buy a GH2 me (Philip Bloom's Film kitchen and the wonderful photographs of Pilpop are not involved because not all).
've Sometimes taken directly to the laptop via Firewire. This is useful, especially so in concert with records, if you do not want to switch after 60 or 80 minutes, the tray / can.
The GH2 is supposed to spend a wonderful cleanes HDMI signal. My Vaio laptop has HDMI though, but only output! There's an adapter of HDMI to Firewire! I would like to record with OnLocation CS3.
Does anyone have any idea?

In the camera hardware is much effort to get the data handy to komprimiren by AVCHD codec. HDMI transmits uncompressed. What is a computer processor to compress the data stream in real time again? In addition, compressed AVCHD lossy, ie it would appear synonymous still a quality deterioration. The GH2 tolerate some SD cards with sufficient capacity. In today's memory card is not being transmitted by cable, it copies the card in the PC at the file level.

Yes, there is a converter of HDMI to Firewire - of Canopus. The are, as far as I know, but only an HDV signal (1440x1080), so do not full HD.

I just read that the GH2 even with SDXC cards with 48GB (= 6h 20min at 17 MBps) or 64GB (= 8.5 hrs at 17 Mbps) can be fitted. Even with a "normal" 32GB SDHC card, therefore you get over four hours of recording time, which really is plenty for concerts.

I believe so 700 - Ockert, and secondly, well, that with the concert recordings with the GH2 is difficult because of the sense of a large map to be adding more, min by term limitation of about 30. in DSLRs is s.absurdum out. As to the max anyway after Cam. 30 min off, you may need to replace a card quickly synonymous.
The idea to capture via HDMI s.einen laptop / PC, it's okay. I think that does not limit the term, because the camera does not answer yes, but only to grind through HDMI (I think me, anyway).
The question remains: How can you do that? There still exist the possibility of a small PC with an HD capture-Storm or so to build a Decklink or AJA card in it. But this will be more expensive.
I can think of yet, there is synonymous recorder that can capture via HDMI.

I'm afraid synonymous closer examination. They have installed the limit safely not only for customs reasons - is not it?

Yes, the with the recorder would obviously be the most elegant solution. I have but only once prohibitively expensive because the laptop anyway is already there and that was a good way so far.

However, the limitation of recording time s.Stück expected in GH2 customs reasons alone have, for the U.S. model, for example, this limitation has not: A possible risk of overheating, however, would apply to both variants. How big is this risk at all, will in practice have yet to show. The Canon 60D has so yes obviously synonymous less fighting than their predecessors.
