The topic was discussed here already times but the answers did not help me next. I will succeed though. Vob files to. Mpg convert files, but unless Tmpgenc None of my players (Winamp, Media Player, Movie Maker) can read the files. No idea what the problem is. Can one help me?

So if you edit the. vob files really want in nem schnittprog, then you'll get virtualdubmpeg & the huffyuv codec, then kannste the vob. huffyuv capture & as-avi (save quite a loss)! This can then edit avis s.schluss & runterkonvertieren to a desired target format!

Now I do not know how you have the VOBs converted into MPGs. But is the simplest, rename the file of *. vob to *. mpg. To get the file (it is a MPEG-2 file) to be able to play on your PC you need an appropriate codec. The'll get you, if you any software DVD player on your system install (eg PowerDVD) or, for example installing ffdshow. Is it free here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow

ffdshow is synonymous nor the same benefits that the media player avi-nen huffyuv synonymous happening, with the codec that is only the net was so easy ... :)
Rename the simple aba is inelegant, because this mpeg is not exactly the same as the vob .. Therefore, the so funzt not always synonymous ...

Exactly, have simply renamed the file. I've ne lot downloaded codecs. Now works in WinAmp synonymous but not in Movie Maker. Since they have to work but because I want to edit with this program.

You'll get ffdshow & machs in huffyuv that will recognize the movie maker synonymous then!
can simply rename the problems stop there, because there's header infos with drinstehn in the vob, mpeg & the gibts in the real net! (gabs threads here ...;)

mal ne stupid question: Why not break with ReJig in video and audio and in each x-edit any editing program and add together?
In my experience, this is the smartest and safest method. (but I love learning about this)

No idea what ReJig, hopefully nothing bad? :-) What's that?
VOB is an MPEG-2 stream that can contain, in addition to the original video / audio other audio streams (eg, language variants) and subtitles. When renaming a *. vob to *. mpg, the instructions go to any additional sound - and subtitle data again "lost". Problems in the handling of renamed files in NLEs I've still heard nothing.

... and containing other information. When you rename them to mpeg not only lost, but the free expectant space is pushed together, which makes the video asynchronously.

but I, and indeed quite massive. This problem becomes all the greater, the greater the Vob is. / Quotation on / ReJig to the VOB files of DVD-shooting new encoder .... / Quote off / But thank God not only that Google, however, are more up to it.

I've been renaming some times applied without problems. To be sure, that I recommend here with the renaming is not any nonsense, I have made it easy again or expanded.
A VIDEO_TS of the DVD with subtitles and one audio stream was zus (once made with DVD Workshop) on the hard drive copied, renamed to *. mpg. Renamed File with ProCoder converted into MPEG-1. In addition, even with MSP8 in DV-AVI convert. No. Synchprobleme, not even with the renamed file with the MPEG-1 or AVI. Renamed file again renamed *. VOB. The zurückbenannten File created a new DVD. And lo and behold, both subtitle as synonymous zus audio were still there. Seems as though nothing is lost when renaming?

Another possibility would be to the VOB file with ProjectX to demux or PVAStrumento and then edit with Cuttermaran or Mpeg2Schnitt too. So I would make it at least. Cuttermaran Mpeg2Schnitt and assume that there are audio and video separately. So here is announced demuxing.
As far as I know, does the renaming problem, if the VOB file contains only "normal" bilingual. But what if AC3 is in the game? Many editing programs come with AC3 sound, for example, can not handle.

What is your opinion, the best codec, ie in the ratio of image quality and file size? Hab nich so many and want to try them all. The number of described "Huffyuv" is already very good but 2GB for a 2min video, I already find a great deal. Have a video auf'm Calculator, which is great in similarly good picture quality and length only scarce 20mb. How can this be explained?

The "best" codec, there are not so flat. If you still want to continue editing the file for example, is a preferred codec with little loss of quality and relatively less Compressionsrate. If you want to play your movies then s.TV from the player, you're bound s.dessen codec playback. If you want to put it into the net to come back another consideration, etc. So very much depends on what you want to start with the videos properly, this issue is resolved, you can select an appropriate codec, which might even then often divergent opinions about the "best".
