Frage von Superjoe:... if a video-file, which supposedly was converted with DivX on my DivX player will not run. on the hdd I get the "Properties -> File Info", the message: "File Info properties are not available for the selected sources.
videofile s.PC the works, but not s.DVD player, where it normally never problems with AVI's there.

You load your download GSpot (Google's free) and open your avi it. GSpot to shows you what codec was encoded with.
But seems more likely that your file is faulty. Then there are at DivX.org repair software, but works well in most cases. Since you can play s.PC re-encoding would probably a possibility.

hmm ... if I upload file in GSpot it shows me the following:

Get the data from the Ogg container out and put them into an AVI container. That should go with VirtualDubMod, but it was never used.
