Halli hallo! I'm just at the dubbing of old VHS tapes using the Terratec grave classifier directly from the recorder to my PC. My problem is that the tapes are part of more than 20 years old and I get that with some only play on the soundtrack and just a video noise. In another tape, I was just about playing the same way, but I have one look and hergespult and behold, now it is synonymous a Picture. However, I would not necessarily make for each cartridge, the head will thank me:) I have already searched a bit and found two synonymous devices for which I receive but, unfortunately, nowhere else to buy, even on all U.S. sites. This helps me, of course, not really next and I wanted to ask whether there are any instructions for making a clean little machine or if someone maybe has a good idea? I prefer manual cleaning because of the amount of the tapes do not really consider, because I do not have infinite free time;)

The pre-and rewind the tapes loaded in fast forward or rewind the video heads are not. So feel free to make plays.

Hi,
such a similar problem I had recently synonymous. Horrible sound noise. Then can I have discovered that you can shift with my VCR JVC HRS7500 the tracking and manual was not already Noise to hear more.

Why is a tape delivered after two rewinding better results than before, probably has nothing to do with cleaning but rather a fact associated with the fact that it has been almost at the operating temperature dieTemperatur VCR. My advice: either the tape before dubbing about half an hour to warm up in the recorder or to playing tapes in convection oven at max. 40 degrees.

RTI Tapechek not quite cheap but the best solution for cleaning of VHS tapes. The cleaning equipment for home users to quickly lubricate the cleaning felt, making them unsuitable for large amounts of tape.

Put it on a strong magnet. On beset with an alternating current. With the cross-shaped magnet s.besten go over the tape. After that, the VHS tape to be "free of errors." -> Just black. ;-)

Has anyone of the read along in recent years at all VHS tapes brought to reasonably trouble-free running? I think those days are gone, with all my experiments with different devices was only to be out of grits.

Oh yes, that's already still, my tapes are part of more than 20 years old. But the dubbing of VHS tapes are in my opinion makes sense only if it is irrevocably documents.

So I still have tapes of 1984th The work is still perfect - maybe a little more noise than s.Tag after recording, but otherwise top (if you can speak at VHS of "Top"). Importance of proper storage is upright, dark at the optimum temperature and away from magnetic influences - ie not under or on the television, as it used to be seen by many. Also important is the existing VHS machines to throw out and again before gum up the engines.
PS: I have rewound my tape not even as recommended in a regular cycle before and in order to avoid the übermagnetisieren of two adjacent bands.

rewind one time with-and is important so that the coil is right again (slip = false lying in storage). Good DVD Recorder with Dynamic Tracking and tuberculosis (which had ten years ago cost about 1,200 DM) play synonymous still good everything that lying around.

I have read in the last Winter 20 VHS tapes and only two of them dropped out. The quality is s.sich course, no longer meet current requirements, any more than it probably would do a new DVD recording.
Admittedly, the player with the purchase (more than 15 years) was quite expensive and I have taken to digitize even a TBC between. Synonymous but without TBC was the picture far from the above-described condition. I was pleasantly surprised.

It is remarkable indeed synonymous, that this increasing noise in analogue material after all, still can lead to interesting results. Had been recorded on the same carrier material digital data, then saw the matter is rather hopeless.

I stand against the relatively relaxed. First, I now have everything important backed up on multiple hard disks, secondly, I think is paying the correct storage of similar to my S-VHS and VHS tapes. Especially since I DVCAM course with a little more security than was normal with DV. I had until now no significant volume loss, be it DAT, VHS, S-VHS, HDV, etc. I think careful handling is a significant factor in the receipt.

I get the same calls constantly synonymous. And if I can do something there. Such tapes have any part on a window sill, the television itself or stored in a poorly insulated attic. And then people complain about the stupid tape .... Here are tips for optimum storage on each sleeve. These are the same people complain that in a few years of broken DVDs. My thesis is that the natural selection frees us of so many .... Not everything deserves to be abolished (or not everyone's stuff).

This natural selection can operate synonymous still alive and conscious. So I'm just about to dispose of some insignificant Super-8 movies, the bucket is full of crap. The background is that I am not a super-8 coils such s.60m catch up for new compilations get more. All the scrap of time is curtailed under new aspects and very much compressed. At that time I made sgn. Art shots: cues, Blattlografien, impressions, nature photography, architecture in Italy. All uninteresting now. There are only documentation already faded family members and / or friends.

Well yes, but it just goes like next .... I now have an old G4 laptop must bid in the bay, just because I can play on newer Apple systems, HW and SF, the DVDs no more, I made 6 years ago on it. Synonymous and the old HD-DVD format of None is more software support. And can anyone connect SCSI drives? The Problematic will probably accelerate the near future, even if the interfaces intervene in the timing of image formats ....
At best, all clear as if it had never been there.

I had it even a calculator with EISA bus (not ISA!) And a corresponding controller of Adaptec ;-)
USB2SCSI driving around somewhere but still synonymous (synonymous if the drivers up to XP's) and several PCI SCSI controller.
Only with a Winchester drive, it would be hairy, not because of the controller, but for the jumper settings of the RAID I have no documents.
