In HDV-field (on which the two Canons indeed belong) can do any Camera. But yes you are looking for appear to have a camcorder with AVCHD recording on a memory card?

Actually, I find the DV tape is still ok.
The train goes but clearly the direction of SD cards as storage media and recording in the AVCHD.
So I'd been buying at a future purchase (SD, AVCHD), a camcorder, I do is buy every 5 years, the other through the DV output DV editing, but still can make (without having to buy expensive new Sw need).
Gibt's camcorder with AVCHD and SD cards somehow synonymous standard format or convert it?

The software for HD is not so expensive!
AVCHD editing is difficult and requires high computing power. With HDV in HDV, you can cut the whole back up tape and play followed by down converting a DV video output. The tape soglei serves as a backup.
