Frage von Peter-Paul:Hello people in the forum
I am a complete novice in the digital video business and tormenting me with the basics. Here's my problem:
I've digitized my old VHS videos over a nice new DVD recorder and DVD's burned. On each DVD's now have a folder (Video_TS) with a set s.Daten (info-files, backup file, and a total of four DVD movie files a 1.4 GB). I've been told that these files from the VOB format are they?
To edit my digital video DVD's to be able to (Tilel, cutting, etc) I have purchased MediaStudio Pro 8 and installed on my PC. But as the above data get into the MediaStudio Pro 8? Do I need to convert the files on the DVD's still somehow in a different format?
Who can tell me something about it?
Peter-Paul

I think that's quite simple:
You just need the file extension of the VOB files into. "Mpg change.

Hi Peter-Paul,
the approach VHS -> DVD -> PC (-> DVD?) is not optimal, because the DVD is due to their high data compression a weakness in the processing chain. The data must be restored first and then unpack again be compressed.
The ideal would be VHS -> A / D converter -> PC (-> DVD?), Is being examined in each case whether it would make the superior quality of VHS originals ever felt. ;-)
