Hello,
I have described my problem once some time ago, unfortunately without success. Perhaps there is now new evidence.
I have AVI files with DIVX compressed and store any CD. Some files which are probably not been properly burned and therefore defective. You walk up to a certain point, then remains the Picture and sound are running next.
The file properties (size, date) are displayed correctly in Windows, the files can be processed as normal (copy, move, etc).
Are there ways to repair such files? Maybe you can cut out only the damaged area so that the subsequent film can be viewed next. With DIVX FIX it does not work, it can not capture the file.
I am very grateful for the help

The Divx Fix Repair Joiner, since he can read the files only up to the broken body.
The other reference seems interesting, but I have to work once by me.

Experimental time to load the video into a video editing program broken (or a converter) in order to then compress the video into a new file to.

With a broken mpeg2 file (S-VCD) I have succeeded with no trick, which again hinzubekommen. I then played with a stand-alone player and the PC resumed.

This article helps me not synonymous, since the author assumes that the Internet is an intact version of the video. Since it is around my own video recordings act, this procedure is not applicable.

If you order herunterscrollt is clearly seen that s.der spot where the video stops, only you can see zeros. That means to me that the file is not actually be restored. Unfortunately!

Thanks Nightfly, but as mentioned earlier, I believe that my broken files s.der body concerned are simply empty, and that, therefore, is probably nothing more to do
