Frage von miciculi:Hello,
I would like to buy myself a D-SLR and will soon not know what is ISO. Apparently a higher ISO will be fainter than a lower ISO. Can a synonymous please tell me what ISO actually means?
Sorry that I ask, but when Googlen I have not found anything useful.
Thank you,
Jos

Hi Jos,
if not already read here ne acronym from the head.
ISO is actually the Filmenmpfindlichkeit. Since no film is special in a digital CCD or CMOS chip is installed speaks, one of amplification of the signal - eg for video gain.
Unfortunately, the gain has) of the sensor / or higher ISO number in the film a stronger color, or / and luminance noise / coarse grain lead (Stillimage film.
There are quite good CCD 's like the Super CCD Fufi of the synonymous eg at ISO 1600 still produce amazingly noise-free images F 10 and F 30
CMOS sensors have house of a higher noise, the Sonywill with its new ClearVid? Have hinbekommen Sensor (HC 3 or more DVD 505).
A higher ISO number will fight a possible Verwackelrisiko synonymous.
Some cameras will be at very high ISO setting, the number of pixel by pixel veringert bundling, but this is rarely the case (Panasonic TZ 1 for eg ISO 1600)

Hello Jan,
this means that it is increasing at a higher ISO number, the noise, or controls a greater number of the iso noise.
We can therefore at a higher ISO in a darker environment to shoot better pictures than with a lower iso, right?

Hi Jos,
or gain a higher ISO allows for extremely low-light into a good picture (depending on model, to gain precise).
Unfortunately, the image noise at higher gain / ISO number is increasing, in which a CCD or other more or less.
Without amplification, the picture in low light is easy, almost black only.
When Aperture is already fully open to eg 1.8 or 2.8 and it should be photographed so freely hand eg 1 / 30 or 1 / 15 (which is already difficult if) must be a reinforcement to help anything at all to see in bad light.
