to edit my movies in Magix VDL16, I proceed as follows:
First I import the camcorder of my recorded HD material (m2ts format) in the PC.
Then the files with the included "HD Writer" to be converted to MPEG2 (PAL standard definition, widescreen). This format could my previous video work Deluxe 15 liquid. But through this conversion result is well known loss of quality.
Now I've cut my Mpeg2 material etc. .. and would like to burn it to DVD. Here again, the material is encoded ("Mixdown", probably in VOB or MPEG2 - I do not unfortunately).
Now my question: Is the quality by re-encoding, or even worse is it now so how is she? I now have the way the pros version of Magix Video Deluxe 16 HD.
LG Ricardo!

Clearly, the mere fact that it is runtergedampft on SD. It would be cheaper if VDL the m2ts (ie MPEG2 transport stream) as it is handled could become, and important synonymous again (probably HDV), as such, stored, namely as a "master" from which you can be small, set off the DVD.

In a VOB is MPEG2 video multiplexed with any audio (usually Mpeg2 audio. AC3 aka Dolby Digital or PCM). HDV is usually a good source for a SD-DVD: The codec is mpeg2 in both cases.
There are avoidable (and most visible) and unavoidable loss of quality, but are not visible. Among the avoidable is a superfluous conversion step, in your case, the small computer before the cut ...

Without it, now know exactly 100%, but my VDL 17, M2TS import files natively, I mean, at least. Will look again later when I'm s.richtigen Calculator.
Otherwise, a question s.den Topic creator: Does your VDL for liquid and without a trailer or crashes? The latest stable VDL, and I know I am running is the VDL 2007-2008 PLUS.
Took us a while until I have brought with all the compatibility stuff on Win7 to run, but run all the newer versions are not stable for me (and the one on my I7-920, 6GB RAM)
If your M2TS files are probably to record files of the SD-707?
