Hello,
had problems with the GR X5, the films get it on your Mac. A conventional (media market) Firewire cable not working, at least. To know from someone. I try to film in I-movie to load, but does not recognize the camera. Do you need a special JVC Firewire cable and where there is such a thing?

Oh, one more question. Also in the photo setting "fine" are the photos of only 72 dpi great in Photoshop and thus not large printable. Even then I would need professional help.

Do you need a special JVC Firewire cable and where there is such a thing? No, consumer camcorder, but have usually a four-pin Male-end, while the times s.Mac is six pole and has a different shape.
PictureDas wirst du wohl nicht meinen, sorry. Deine Cam sollte nicht im Recording- sondern im Player-Modus stehen, vielleicht lag´s daran. Deine Cam hat sogar " DV -in", d.h. du kannst fertige Filme auf eine Kassette zum Archivieren zurückspielen, hierzu würde ich unbedingt in die Gebrauchsanweisung sehen. Wie immer hänge ich die Recommendation an, iMovie nicht als ernsthaftes Editing program zu sehen. Für DV reicht ein (ruhig älteres) Final Cut oder Final Cut Express
as in this example (link). More fun, and just synonymous for Beginners.
Oh, one more question. Also in the photo setting "fine" are the photos of only 72 dpi great in Photoshop and thus not large printable. Now I'm assuming you want to print A4. In Photoshop:
File> New> Default: "A4" (Resolution300 dpi)> OK> File open (or Apple + O, you search your Stillimage on the hard drive and confirm)> Choice: "Select All" (or Apple + A) > Edit> Copy (or Apple + C), close by the original Apple + W (or click Edit on the red traffic light)>: "Paste" (or edit command + V)> transform: "Free" (or Apple + T). If you hold down the Shift button PACKST now with the mouse a corner of the image and draw it as large as you want it layout in Comparison to the A4. Then you press the Rückführtaste for confirmation.
You now have your Stillimage) on a "level 1" (right small window, and thus met the most important creative tool of Photoshop, by the fact that the picture like on a sheet of glass is suspended in the light. Now, if you'd only selected parts of the image (by selecting Tools), or if you take away with the eraser tool parts of the image, the background is visible. Try it, adding more darüberkopierst Open image and (every time a new layer) and make a collage.

sometime in the past few months, I had read of a user that he also had his problems with Firewire cables. Only the original JVC cable for around 30 ¬ brought about the desired connection.
Why that was and whether it will be with your camcorder as well, I can not tell you (probably). ;-)

In fact - the usual Firewire cable of Media Market crash brought all tried out for Macs - synonymous by the Apple Store could not figure it out and synonymous another Firewire cable had no connection is made. Very strange, where it should be the same as Firewire Firewire. I probably have the JVC Firewire cable bestellne. Let's see if it works,

May be too large manufacturing tolerances to blame? The very cheap FireWire cables that were in my IEEE1394 cards here, I've taken out the same, because the fit was extremely poor. None of my camcorder got to contact the PC.
