With my brand new camcorder, the Panasonic NV-GS 140 can be tape recorded with PowerDirector 3.0 (full version) dub only through the analog port on a PC, but not via firewire cable. The error message reads: "The input signal and the output format is not compatible." After the profile representation in PowerDirector NTSC with the camcorder is recorded data (here: width 720/Height 480 lines instead of 720/576). A manual change of the profile is obviously not possible. But the fact is that the camcorder is working according to the PAL system. With my other camcorder (Panasonic NV-MX 1) can the tape that is perfect dub on the PC.
Panasonic showed a loss, it was not a hardware problem. I suspect that synonymous and do not think that the NV-GS 140 is compatible with the Power Director 3.0 - even though these devices in the compatibility list of serial CyberLink is listed.
Who has some good advice? But I can not download any trial versions of video editing programs and try?

Hello,
One possible solution do you have indeed already been mentioned: with capturing the MX1. If you want to stay with PowerDirector 3.0, it would be at least a viable option.
There will always be some equipment that do not want with other compatible devices in principle ... see
limitations of digital technology. These "other areas" are of course confined to MiniDV. ;-)

Neither the removal of the SP 2 nor the installation of s.anderer body of the forum called Windows files have been anything. Ulead VideoStudio 8 showed in the result the same error as PowerDirector 3rd Then I installed the SP 2 again.
After further tests, I have the trial version of Magix Video Deluxe 2006 download - and dubbing from camcorder works perfectly! Then I have purchased the program and I am perfectly satisfied. Sometimes everything is so easy ......
Perhaps this "success" message will help "some other synonymous videographers.
