LOSS-FREE digitize VHS tapes. Am I doing everything right?
Frage von 74241688: Februar 2011
A good evening. A very good forum, so I've even logged on today and start to speak the same times with a new theme.
As the title suggests, I'm planning my SVHS and VHS tapes to digitize loss. I will tell after all step by step how to do it vllcht I can be one or more other suggestions. The Equipment: - Panasonic NV-FS 88 (SVHS) - Philips DVR3320V (DVD Recorder) - MPEG Video Wizard (PC software) - Pinnacle Studio 10 Pros (PC software) - Avid Media Composer 5 (PC software)
My approach so far:
1. Cassette into the Panasonic NV-FS 88 -> play. 2. Focus puller adjust to almost maximum 3. Panasonic NV-FS 88 with S-Video and Audiochinchkabeln s.DVD Recorder Philips DVR3320V join. 4. Signal from the Panasonic on DVD-RW blank record in XP mode (XP mode is 1 hour capacity, about 8-9 KbTS / s) 5. Titles recorded on DVD-RW disk with Pinnacle Studio as MPEG2 files of DVD Import PC. 6. Now I cut the material loss with MPEG Video Wizard -> and again export the material as MPEG2 or burn it to DVD (4.7GB) and DVD9 (7.5GB).
Notes: [/ u]
- In spite of this path are closer examination and playback of material via Bluray player and upscaling noticeable on 1080i the bit rate of the XP mode (especially with channel logos, etc): I compare this material with the original material on the SVHS tape on the television now this still not the same! The digitized is worse. The original SVHS material looks crisp even on the LCD and really good. I should have it on DVD just like synonymous ^ ^ The focus is s.VCR Set to max. If he were in the middle of me in turn is digitized, the washed and not too crunchy.

MPEG 2 is not good especially for something like that, because the noise in image compression - and the VHS is in full glory - comes into problems.
I would take at least a converter to DV (or a higher-quality codec) that you can edit virtually without losses and draws only s.Schluss like a DVD. The direct recording to a DVD Recorder actually makes sense only if you want to edit anything and only wants the 1:1 copy.
The with the drawn-definition is a matter of taste. In any case raise the best DVD recorders, there is - any top models with TBC, digital noise reduction, volume analysis and dynamic tracking. So what's been ten years ago, for example, of 2,000 marks around your Panasonic. We still have a stand in the studio, called NV-HS860, works wonders.

You walk too much and unnecessary way and her. The DVD recorder is not needed.
There are plenty of threads on this topic here. Please use the search function.
In many of these thread following links are provided that describe is how to do it right:

Well, as MPEG2 is not suitable? That's finally the DVD format? Should I use a better VCR? Is my Panasonic NV-FS88 because of bad?
Antwort von nicecam:
MPEG2 is already compliant or necessarily what must ultimately end up on DVD. Only you have indeed been changed several times, and quality will be the loser.
How well your NV-FS88 is, I can not judge. It is synonymous not only of NV-FS88 from yours, but synonymous of your NV-FS88. Do you understand what I mean? It is synonymous to the care of the player.
Jott is quite right with its NV-HS860. Lighter than come to s.solch a device it is, however, bring the existing recorder in good shape and then by means of A / D converters digitize. The material ends up as a DV-AVI on the PC.
Study time in the rest of me the links. Since everything in it is important to know what you must.

Can I do without the synonymous A / V converter and connect the SVHS recorder right away via S-Video and RCA audio s.den PC. My Connections has this backwards ... and then practically with Pinnacle Studio capture as DV-AVI lossless?
