Frage von Peter-Paul:Hello dear forum members,
knows, perhaps even one with the Canopus software, "Let's Edit 2" out of good:
Starting point:
analog Hi8 video-camera -> Canopus ADVC-55 -> laptop with firewire input ---> Let's Edit software.
What's going on:
I record a video film with H8 Let's Edit (the clips will appear separately (with a fixed picture) in the upper right of the window Lets Edit as Clip001, Clip002, etc. The clips are perfectly playable as synonymous AVI files in Windows Media Player. I can not synonymous join the clips on the timeline, to convert to MPEG format, save, etc.
What is not working:
When recording of the camera (CAM-Rec) and when playing a previously-Ge "captscherten" clip (double click on the clip), I probably get the Orginalton, but in the Edit window Lets not running along image output. I see my clip.avi sequences, neither the import nor when playing, even though these sequences are correctly recorded (Play with Picture and Sound in Media Player OK!).
Lets edit the properties are set to "PAL" to anticipate this before.
How can there be?
The same way, I have synonymous with MediaStudio Pro 8, where I get the Program "Video Capture 8" the error "Could not build preview graph". Synonymous and it does the "capturing" no, that is, it will produce neither Clips and acquired in the editor appears.
Can someone help me?

Diffused error image ...
1 / Check your DirectX installation. In addition, the program dxdiag (Windows folder and run from Start-> Run)
2 / features of the display the max (hardware acceleration on)
3 / With GSpot to see how that would play AVI files (lower third of the GSpot display).
Good luck

Hello Stefan,
Thanks for your tips. Unfortunately I am not a PC expert, so I had no breakthrough.
On your point 1:
I can call dxdiag successful. The main window tells me that I DirectX9.0c have installed on my laptop. Get the following information in the tabs:
s.Lasche "DirctX-files": message "no problems found"
b. Display tab: "System is using the generic video driver"
message is displayed: Vga.dll
Next Showing:
according to the DirectDraw Test Buttom and the many fine graphic objects that float over the screen the message: "Test with DirectDraw was successful".
DirectDraw Acceleration not available
Direct3D Acceleration not available
AGP Texture Acceleration not available
The other tabs (sound, network, etc) have probably less to do with my problem, so I can save myself next to comments.
On your point 2:
Where should I set the performance of my display?
Choose Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager I have found only the following device (marked) way, with a question mark:
? Other Devices ->? Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
If I am this "device" in the display window, select I get the message "The driver for this device is not installed" To reinstall, etc. ....
Of course, I have not dared to Reinstall Buttom klicken.Wer to know what happens then ..... I guess, so synonymous is the generic VGA drivers "Vga.dll" loaded in the system?
On your point 3: What is GSpot, and where should I call it. Using Start> Run, it will not be found.
I do not know if you can help me now. However, I have the vague feeling that my problem has something to do with my laptop and its settings on hardware / operating system level, perhaps with my VGA Drivers?.

Antwort von Stefan:
1 / DirectX 9.0c're already good.
2 / Right click an empty area on the desktop. Select "Properties". "Settings" Select. There, the "More Options". "Select Features". Hardware acceleration "100% share. The rest of the screen settings should not be synonymous with lean. True color 32-bit and adjust 800x600 better 1024x768.
3 / GSpot is a freeware tool for analysis, as an AVI video is composed and what codec is needed and how it would play on your calculator, or what is missing. The tool can be found easily through search engines.

I do not think that it depends s.VGA-Drivers.
Good luck

Hello Stefan,
Thanks for your help to me already once brought about the dxdiag tool on the right track. ) After consultation with the Canopus hotline and the Dell (because of video chip in my laptop has turned out that my display requires a special drivers, who obviously was not installed. Therefore, the operating system the standard VGA-Drivers has taken, which in turn was not in a position to operate the on-line video window in Let's Edit with. After download and install the correct video driver synonymous runs on-line video windows in both the recording, as synonymous with the playback. My problem is settled.
