I did it so I come with 2 Li-Ion NP1 on nice long recording times - and - the top-heavy the camera is balanced.

NP1 drive not synonymous with constant 12V. Rated voltage is 12V only, actual voltage starts fully loaded 14.8 s.and then goes up to 11.7 or so down ...
the 4pol. Network device is synonymous to 13.5 V or so;) ..
