... a good all-around lens ... How much do you want to spend because? If it's not too expensive, would my Tamron 2.8/17-50mm invade.
... explain how exactly it with a continuous light intensity of the 2.8 Lenses work? What is unclear because you are?

With luminous intensity of the 2.8, I am not entirely clear how in practice! In practice, the way that you always greatest when Aperture 2.8 is available, no preference whether you are with this lens in the wide-angle or telephoto aufnimmst. For zoom lenses with non-continuous light falls on the other hand, the maximum aperture at telephoto direction, so for example you might only have 4 or Aperture 4.5 as the biggest opening it. A constant high light intensity, however, due to constructing expensive, so usually more expensive and larger / heavier lenses.
