Hello,
My question is does not deal directly with video, but maybe I can even still help someone.
Several years ago, there were times such software synthesizer with which you could play a MIDI file in good quality wavetable!
(eg of Yamaha and Roland Virtual Sound Canvas)
These are available but unfortunately not for XP ...
I'm looking for a standalone player, where you can simply play the MIDI's () as before the Virtual Sound Canvas. And not such a DXI or VST plug-Mist ...
Can someone help me there?

Well, this in Quicktime's not like most of the good quality of her!
Is there no current SoftSynthesizer like these 2 days?
