Hello s.alle,
I have here an ask, did a film included in mpeg2 format, but first he wants rid of the advertising time, so cut and then convert it into avi format, as it is otherwise too great. I also want to join in cutting the pieces of film together.
It does not necessarily have to be avi format, it can be synonymous another format, the main thing is that they require about as much space as avi.
What freeware program would you recommend to me?

1 / get you some of the freeware VirtualDub MPEG Fcchandler. Link to was posted in the last 6 hours in connection with cutting HDV.
2 / Download the MPEG clean and shred unerwüschtes with Selection Start / End / Delete out.
3 / Set the desired AVI Kompresion
4 / Save the AVI. Done.

AVI really brings nothing in Comparison to MPEG2.
How do you say that? (Sure, there are different compressions, if it is generally considered synonymous of DV-AVI.)
Look for other codecs such as DivX Xvid for the Internet ... (Gibts course, synonymous as AVI Compression)

1.) yet easy cutting with Video DeLuxe, which processed the same MPEG without changing it.
2.) s.Mit AVI DV codec you lose disk space but you can score well and good again convert to MPEG (quality OK Good)
2.) b) By AVI DIVX codec will save you disk space. However, you should

Sorry if that does not clearly stopped over.
Under "1.)" was cut with Video DeLuxe. Then, of course, YOU can use synonymous virtualdub or something else.
All under "2.)" was only to CONVERT. So with "mpeg2avi"'s nothing to cut with.
