I have been active for some years in the DV editing. My new camera is now synonymous widescreen. My question: Does anyone have experience with widescreen and the MV850i? Are lost during the photo shoot info? Is it perhaps just a gimmick with this cam?

Hello dv-freak,
the answer may come in bissl late, but yes, the 850i is "real" widescreen, I own them myself. You have 30% more image information, nothing is lost.
