Hello,
There is a Mac software for AVCHD directly (without conversion to AIC) for editing. Or. is this good sense? Because the problem of output without BluRay burner is not (yet?) A problem in any case s.Mac. (do not know a good reasonably cheap)
Without treatment you can yes AVCHD as MTS files on toast (I think 10 or even 9?) RecolverHD or burn to DVD, but only about 20 minutes.

yes there are 2 companies I know: Voltaic shedworx with her and another whose product NeoScene means.
Final Cut Pro directly converts AVCHD to ProRes, which I prefer!

Final Cut Studio Pro (which do you think, right?) Comes for me, no question, for my rights too expensive, perhaps some day Final Cut Express. But then I know that much.

Voltaic? Hardly! Converting to AIC so, so that the files in iMovie can edit. For example, if iMovie does not recognize the hardware, such as before the last update with meinr Pana TZ7 was the case.
