Macrovision Copy Protection: What possible with VHS?

one question, how is / was it possible (with what hardware?), the Macrovision copy protection on a VHS to bring ..?
Will obviously not only works great copy) be reserved (was, or am I mistaken?

VHS Macrovision does consist of some non-standard signals in the blanking interval, or where ever synonymous to confuse the automatic gain control of the VHS recorder. The circuitry should not be too difficult (for a corresponding Loeti)
