In this respect, since the quality should not be worse than with your current camera, if you want to stay in the same class of camera.
Can bring frustration with the processing agent, if you do not have adequate computer hardware at home. These can be found here but already a few threads ...

A few years have Sonyand Panasonic agreed to delight the market with a limited quality and brought a product to market that in the execution was so good just like that which already existed .... only just new.
Here were old MPEG2 format (1440) sold as HD, although no HD specification supports such a format, enriched with interlaced formats that are actually long for the trash.
In sum: AVCHD was a marketing ploy to get your foot in the door, but nothing half and not whole.
Meanwhile it is interesting, however, because more and more synonymous Manufacturers have recognized this and go beyond the self-imposed limitation of AVCHD out.
You have more and more the format and tools that AVC has to offer and actually make AVCHD behind.
I would have to wait half a year, then strike with a camcorder that both 1080p50, used as synonymous better profile from the AVC offer.
On one thing I would pay attention to all cases: that AVCHD is
not it.
