Dear Forum,
I save my old Hi8 tapes before too.
Some time ago I tried to start, but could save only a movie, because then the Hi8 camera broke.
Well I bought a new Canon Hi8 Camera of Ebay and have been trying to digitize a few films (USB video converter of Magix).
Now, however, is a problem that I had not previously had.
zum Bild Habe versucht ein Beispiel zu machen. Also erkenne ich in regelmäßigen diese Streifen, in dieser Zeit bleibt zusätzlich der Sound weg.

Hmm. When your playing with all the tapes will be distorted, but the camera easily reproduce their own images, it seems to me to look after a misalignment. This is a very dangerous advice! First, inexperienced (yet may want Grobmotoriker) people who never seek arbitrarily to clean the miniaturist drive, secondly, it should never be carried out with a cotton swab. Well, an A / D converter would obviously be the best quality of what you could do to your shots. Which can significantly improve the quality (at least s.dem Canopus ADVC-300 there are individual settings for the picture-and sound quality). Yes. I speak from experience, I had to leave my entire professional tapes and digitize expensive, because it turned out that the camera, with which they were recorded, was maladjusted. The photos ran in other devices for a few seconds / minutes as no errors, but then again distorted Deart that neither picture nor sound was evident.
In any case, the above problem indicates a misalignment of more than a by a dust particle or fiber-induced errors. Do you know how many are dust or fiber particles in each Cam and on each tape?
