So now you talk of GraKa or `hard drive? GraKas affect only conditionally on VideoCapturen out so everything should go outside, go.
Plate of WD Raptor is always good because synonymous fast but this is not necessary to capture.

So for this converter, you need to get a firewire card (costs s.ca. 5-10 euros), maybe your computer or laptop has a firewire port. The Converter includes you then s.and like a camcorder can record the videos, than you would of a camcorder to the hard drive capture.
