I personally use because for years for HP DAT streamer.
That means progi for DV Streamer Fireworks.

Had a few years ago was interesting.
Assumed that in uncompressed quality (the only useful) 15 GByte on a mini-DV tape fit, one would use for 1TB
67 Tapes! At the unit price of purchased cheap ca 2nd Euros are the 134, - Euro.
Is now inside of the medium price is currently cheaper than a 1 TB disk (around 210, - Euro), but the effort just 67 tapes (= 67 hours) and play again sometime yourself is enormous. Quite apart from the extra wear on the DV-drive.
I got quite used to at times synonymous DATs streamed. This gave problems after some time without end.
Because I'll buy next 1TB USB disks. Since I have no dropouts and the files are immediately available.

Besides running my DATs after 8 years and still it has yet no hard drive (for me) shop. sometimes an external garnicht (synonymous after GetDataBack, no chance) (Yes I know Schluderhanes) :-)
