Hi,
I have been a few weeks a Panasonic camcorder and while the GS-320. Four weeks holiday in America that I was now about four hours brought the raw material. This is located on three tapes.
Today I have my Firewire interface card installed and the camera has been synonymous of system (with the latest WinXP Home SP2) detected. So far, so good.
Now I have problems with the enclosed software (MotionDV Studio 5.6E LE or Sweet Movie Life 1.0E):
MotionDV Studio 5.6E LE: The first tape was read by Assistant and the individual sequences were created. So I could now (less comfortable) or delete individual sequences shorter.
The second tape but then I had already problems. Constantly broke sometime, never at the same time, the recording from. The presented situation is that the small preview window only blue was nothing more s.PC speakers heard, but the camera happened next. Since then only a Cancel was possible, were already on the hard drive data on synonymous played again disappeared.
Further attempts to synonymous after rebooting the computer, brought no more success. Not even with another tape recorded.
I noticed also, that the start of the program and the wizard is always more time was ...
Sweet Movie Life 1.0E: Here the work of the second recording tapes, but there were only two (why two?) Avi files created from which I am the individual sequences can not be filtered out. An after editing (eg with MotionDV Studio 5.6E LE) is obviously more difficult. So I can with the program not so much use to us. Reading can be so synonymous have Windows Movie Maker or NeroVision Express.
What am I doing wrong possibly? Meanwhile I am so frustrated that I have the whole stuff again s.liebsten would sell! Are the two included software really that bad? What are your experiences?

Are the two included software really that bad? It is not customary, camcorders video editing programs mitzugeben who are really great. If you want to do more than just a blurred scene herauszuschneiden, then you prefer to search for better software. Avid there's even a free tool: Avid FreeDV. For the first steps should already be sufficient.

Markus, thank you first for the answer. With Avid FreeDV I still can not quite friends, but so far only synonymous visits the site. Is the program in the free version of synonymous to MiniDVs single, edit and create a DVD?

FireWire FAQ">section 8, what programs are cheap to have. The output as DVD-Video is now standard.
What problems with the individual software packages are known, you will find in the software SlashCAM'schen headings.

I have today look at the demo version of Magix Video Deluxe 2007 installed and am quite pleased with it. I think I will dare the step to buy the software.
