Frage von Shauny:Hello, I know, unfortunately, not next. I hope that I find in this forum the solution.
I have no DV camera, but an analogue.
This camera is connected via USB box s.den PC. Movie Maker takes the video track on my camera, but not the audio track - and I hear nothing when I play the film in storyboard.
I've checked all the speakers - all at. Synonymous level is set to high. I have tried to find the solution in the Movie Maker help - there is nothing that I could use.
How can it be? Is there a point at the settings I have overlooked? Is it s.der USB box? Perhaps someone can give me a tip.
Thank you very much!

What kind of a "USB box. Manufacturer, Model? If a connection between the audio output of the camera and the PC's sound card is necessary or digitizes the "USB box" both - plus audio video?
Good luck

Antwort von Shauny:
Stefan, thank you for your fast feedback.
The USB Box is the company of Pinnacle. Pinnacle Model 500 - USB.
This USB box digitizes the tracks.
Could it then be s.der USB box? So the video track is properly transferred as I said ....
Antwort von Voltz:
USB box for the Pinnacle Studio Was not it?
Why do not you take on that?
Antwort von Nightfly!:
Hello Shauny!
If you have Pinnacle of the box, as it was intended synonymous better software than just the MSMoviemaker!
Try it erstmal the bundled software.

Antwort von Shauny:
Because Pinnacle Studio requires 500 MB of RAM, which I have not currently on my PC
Antwort von Nightfly!:
500MB minimum prerequisite, although useful, but the program can install it anyway, right?
Try it out! The 500MB intended to refer Effect stuff and not to the basic functions of the program.
Greeting
Nightfly.
Antwort von Shauny:
No, that does not work. When installing the program 1 takes much memory is gone, so my PC is very lame, 2 in any case always comes an error message that is not enough memory to run the program.
That is why I have taken Movie Maker.
But how do I get now, my audio track?
Antwort von Voltz:
Uh-oh, of how much RAM are we talking?
But if you want to be serious a little video editing, you should upgrade the RAM in any case. How expensive is it any more.
Antwort von Stefan:
Sometimes not. Audio over USB is not as far as I know, and you are set as the default of the Pinnacle drivers or programs dependent.
If the implementation does not take on as the line-in from the audio mixer (Sound Mapper) or other audio source is selectable in Movie Maker, you're verratzt. Should we look synonymous times what audio devices are integrated into the Control Panel.
Synonymous You can assign the audio cables instead s.der s.line plug in USB Box-In Sourndkarte and the Movie Maker the audio input line-in. The problem here: the synchronicity between audio and video is easily lost.
Good luck

Yes, I will someday make synonymous. But first I must amuse myself with Movie Maker.
Because now someone has a tip for me what Movie Maker concerns? :-(
Antwort von Voltz:
But you take the machine via USB 2.0 (and not USB 1.1), right?
I'm not entirely sure, but I seem to remember that the boxes are generally tailored to Pinnacle's own software. This could of course be synonymous to the ground.
Antwort von Nightfly!:
Yes, I will someday make synonymous. But first I must amuse myself with Movie Maker.
A hardware failure, I would exclude erstmal. Type more to the lack of support from your box MobieMaker.
AVID apparently supported at your Pinnacle USB box
http://www.fazetron.com/pinnacle.html
AVID free you find here:
http://www.avid.com/freedv/
BUT there is synonymous of what 1GB of RAM
With Ulead is less RAM required

Trail because there are synonymous.

Antwort von Shauny:
But if so, why the box then transmits the video track?
indeed, the works .... Of so I can not imagine that it is s.der box .....

indeed, the works .... Of so I can not imagine that it is s.der box ..... Sometimes you must simply try.
It is not plugged in! In the minds of the developers of USB BOX and drivers.

Have now looked more deeply ...
The video capture via USB run through a so-called USB Video Class Drivers (usbvideo.sys).
Microsoft itself has such a s.Windows XP (SP1). This does not support all video formats, which are provided in the USB Video Class specification. It will be supported: MJPEG, DV, Uncompressed. The Standard are additionally SS MPEG1, MPEG2-PS and MPEG2-TS MPEG4 SL provided.
Of all the above video formats video
plus audio is only in DV, and provides the MPEG formats. If you digitalisierst So your signal uncompressed or MJPEG, simply does not come with audio data.
How do you choose now, what video format the box s.den PC sends? Good question - and it is either not fixed or by switches or by software.
Pinnacle himself says in the Specs:
Compression: MPEG-2, MPEG-1, DV, MJPEG (User-selectable. Available real-time capture formats depend on CPU speed.) Video Playback from Computer Here it looks as if
1 / Pinnacle Drivers with their own more video formats than the Microsoft drivers have.
2 / recruitment is done by software.
Controlled 3 / the adjustability of the software according to PC performance is.
Worst case - your Calculator is too slack for MPEG-2, MPEG-1, DV, and the software locks the settings. Or the Einstellerei can only be made with Pinnacle Studio software and it is terminated without the software MJPEG format adopted as the stupidest (but is still the way through the sound card)
Good luck

Hi Shauny,
of cheap USB converters, I do not think much (see link below). My advice would be to use a more sophisticated model. But maybe someone else has a tip for you? (The latter has already done so).

-> 1 (c) Why do not capture using graphics card, TV card or [USB -] grabber?
