Apologies if I do say so book now: Forget the Windows Movie Maker. Let me guess: your video is longer than 6.7 minutes -> Movie Maker crashes (in most / many cases).
Since you the question in the beginners questions - are forum, I take it that you're a beginner synonymous. Wow, check out with Pinnacle Studio ... 12.14 ...
Ifs to be freeware I may be a somewhat complicated but very, very, very stable program called WAX: http://www.debugmode.com/wax/
Write me ne mail when the program should crash. Hardly think it would happen.
