I have to visit before next year as many countries as possible.

There are a large variety of models synonymous (cheap camcorder) and the accompanying tapes you can buy more from virtually anywhere in the world.
The fact that MiniDV synonymous easily transfer recordings to a computer and can edit, just look at as an encore. If you have a later time but should get pleasure ... ;-)
