Hi Can I explain it a one? I started about 2 months before my DV videos to put on DVD I wanted to do with Canopus Procoder Express and TMPG DVD Author Just gave me the whole time, really a little too much gekostet.Bisher I'm sure an Athlon XP 2500 + with 512 Mb RAM easy a 3 year old Geforce 2 and all on a cheap Asrock board benutzt.Das left me everything lahm.Nu I pissed my savings and invested me an ABIT AW8 Board (everywhere as the fastest top-notch, and vowed not exactly cheap) with 2Gb DDR2 PC4200 FSB 533 RAM and an Intel Celeron 3.09 GHz, albeit at 3.9 Ghz (of a specialist ) has been clocked, then ne gekauft.Zur crowned with Geforce PCI Express dazu.Nu comes the rude awakening of the new system will convert the videos and not authorized by the tiniest little bit faster: That is not I can probably sein.Nu Intel made because read everywhere in the field of video is the Intel vastly überlegen.Na good the Athlon is a Celeron but even that should be coded for almost 4 Ghz but probably much faster than two years old Athlon 2500 +. And then 2GB DDR2 Ram, in proportion to advance but must be 512 Mb.Da remember what to do. But ne lame just so lazy to go and open the windows and turns he thought my Videos.ich when everything is a little more memory is simultaneously zügiger.Mehrere Progs aufhaben.Aber nix Pustekuchen.Egal which MainConcept encoder, Procoder Express, DivxToDVD, TMPGDVDAuthor.Alles as lame as before, or let's say so imperceptibly schneller.Wo is the problem? A case of 2 years can not operate as fast as those with cutting-edge hardware? 'm Really pissed off and my sadness coal behind.

The encoding of AVI to Mpeg2 is primarily a processor time problem, and is the faster, the better the Proz is.
Ram memory chipset and have since only times less impact on the speed.
You now have of a 2500 XP on an Intel Celeron changed, and that could even mean that you have exchanged a big second-level cache for a small one. Influence has set synonymous nor Proz instruction, such as MMX and SSE.
Along with that there still such things as chip timing, background processes, etc.
Here is an opportunity to compare

And why you bought no real Pentium?
Antwort von Kniffo:
The genuine Pentium would have become a lot more expensive and I had imagined that a new processor, synonymous if it's just a Celeron to be a lot faster than a 2 years old Athlon XP.Zumal has at least a 3.06 GHz and the real others actually only true Ghz.Der Celeron 1.8 but is all cool new things like eg 64 bit Archtektur and so should haben.Außerdem next Intel, as I've yet read the Athlons in terms of video processing so at least I think sein.Na nothing wrong with the Board.

When I look at the chart as intuition I'd probably rather then the new processors in the middle lane or Celerons are not included here? Is a 64-bit Intel Prescott FSB 533 Socket 775 The old Athlon XP2500 +, I'd classify as rather close to the bottom. Then he ought to still be a little faster.

The real-MHz clock speeds are in the Intel / AMD cpu Comparison not as visible on the charts really say anything. My AMD X2 3800 + is at an effective clock speed of 2x2000 almost as fast as the Pentium 2x3200.
As a small hint yet about your performance problem: Search once from the Windows Tweaks and thin your operating system, is also sometimes helpful to run the appropriate process to high priority. So you can still tease out a few percent more speed.

Especially when video coding is often the size of the CPU caches crucial - it is best when it fits an entire video frame in the cache. But the biggest difference, particularly in relation to the cache size is not the old from the new Athlon Celeron (which is precisely why less expensive than the Pentium 4 because its cache is smaller) - in both he is 256 KB big (as opposed to the latest CPUs, where he size is 1-2 MB).
