Hi!
I am free Artist Editor and After Effects. Soon I would like to grow a new calculator so I can make one or the other job at home. Since my budget is not huge I would not invest more than in the 1500-1600 Euro Calculator. Do you think it is in this financial framework feasible to get something useful? My main areas are as I said 2-D animation and motion graphics with After Effects, isolated 3D animations (; Cinema 4D) and cut (; Premiere or Avid). Should of course be able to handle HD material synonymous.
Here, roughly the components that I have in mind:
- Intel Quad-Core i7 Processor GHZ 2,8-3
- 8 GB GeIL DDR3 Ram (; DDR 2 would do .. I'm sure synonymous uncertain in the case)
- Nvidia Geforce GT 2800 1024
- 1000 GB hard drive (; Video)
- 250 GB hard drive (; System)
- 27 "Inch Monitor (; possibly Samsung)
What do you think of this configuration? If the Calculator somewhat future proof? I know that I get for the budget no infernal machine ... but I will not have to look around me synonymous in one year after NEM new computer.

The system disk in a RAID 1 mirror you could, for total data security on the system disk.
The video record you could also operate in RAID 1, or (if the ICH10 chip in the motherboard lies) of two plates 1000GB RAID 1 for a part and join extort a part to a RAID 0.
Alternatively, you can take for a synonymous 4x 1000GB RAID 10 (which could also blow up your price range) - would be optimal for a lot of work with uncompressed stuff.
In memory I would rather take 6GB, three bars (because Trippe-Channel). Bring probably not synonymous much - but hey ... Later, you can still upgrade to 12GB.

The system disk in a RAID 1 mirror you could, for total data security on the system disk. Raid 1 is never a "total security". If you prefer a SSD and then save it regularly.
The video record you could also operate in RAID 1, or (if the ICH10 chip in the motherboard lies) of two plates 1000GB RAID 1 for a part and join extort a part to a RAID 0. If you want to work professionally, just take no Raid0. The only sensible way is a raid5, or one RAID6.

I would recommend the 1366er base on an ASUS or Gigabyte board with 6 DDR3 slots. When the CPU i7 920 with a Noctua cooler. That you can easily overclock to 3.8 Ghz. Rather than Corsair or G. Skill Ram (on CL-timing eighth-> CL7), with G. Skill s.besten Ripjaws the series.
So I have built my OSX rendering Stations (for After Effects and C4D) and run absolutely perfect.
For the hardware without a monitor you land so scarce in 1000, still remains what is a reasonable monitor.
