Dear forum participants,
It's done. After ample consideration, some hesitation (as synonymous, we are followers of the creed 'never change a running system') and many subsequent work, we will adjust the forum Wednesday night to a new system. The old posts will be taken over. From today (Mittowch) evening about 21 clock is blocked, therefore this forum, the new s.Donnerstag will soon be available at the URL http://forum.slashcam.de.
The decisive reason for the change is the fact that the forum is unfortunately no 'running system' more - most of you have noticed: every few weeks, the posting routine is broken, we have been unable to find the reason. The big server load synonymous leads to very long load times, it usually takes much too long until the index is fully charged and all other process servers while virtually standing still. In addition, our forum software used to date is no longer maintained for some time - so no security updates, no patches, etc.
So much for the compelling technical reasons. Many of you have also repeatedly requested a little more order and clarity. We have taken into account when setting up the new forum - a not so simple task, since at least as much value the creative chaos of the old structure, which indeed worked well on her way synonymous. We have therefore tried to find a middle way, and will look like this:
1. No masses of forums with subforums. It will initially be only five Forum Categories: Camcorders, post-production, filmmaking, Computer and General.
2. In a left-hand column will continue to be the latest posts / threads listed from all the forums.
3. You can write as synonymous unregistered visitor contributions. But if spam mail robots descend upon the Forum, we will, like many other forums, will have to adjust to a mandatory registration. We'll see.
Registration only takes about half a minute (if you want to specify any additional personal information that is of course voluntary) - for those who make more post something, it definitely sense: it is then usangezeigt which posts since last visit are new.
4. The appearance will as usual be very minimal (no avatars, no emoticons etc.)
5. Some new features are added yet, especially for registered users, as there would be, for example, reviews of Posts, New Age favorites list
6. Something very special is the new comment feature on slashCAM news and articles. We have long wished that the news can be discussed, but the old software not offered for this interface. The new already, and so it will be for slashCAM readers finally able to post their opinions on news of new cameras, Programs, movies and so on.
As far as erstmal Preview - everything else will s.Donnerstag. We hope you like our new forum slashCAM will like as good as us.

The division into categories is contrary to the current format of the forum completely. But when they introduced it must be present (why always synonymous), then it starts for God's sake do not make s.noch more subdivisions as it has intended. If you do this, you can book the forum in my opinion, otherwise forget about.

If slashcam introducing more categories, then it is no longer slashcam. Actually we had this discussion here but already time - and at that time was an important result that the Uncategorized represents a unique point of slashcam.
Whether these categories is from this perspective are really good - we'll see.

I like it at all. I found the previous version more clearly, since I not only want to deal with an issue. So you could always see large read along and take notes. This was one of the main reasons why I have remained faithful to the forum.
This Forumart found almost on jederer better website. Nevertheless, one can still see the hottest topics right. That remains for us the old Slashcam forum yet received anything.
Never change a running system synonymous applies here. I would have felt better if you had the old forum fixed.

We have the usual "Forumart" quite extensively reworked to take on just about the good things from the old forum.

Wolfgang Why so negative? Getting used to, I think it's synonymous. But even at 3-4x look, I managed to find the new structure. Just that it was broken - but not in so many sub-categories - I like that. Also the possibility of registration to find better (s.besten only with registration).
The improved ways of formatting the text ... It has indeed continued to the left of all the new posts from all groups as before at a glance ...

when I login everything worked fine, but I initially found the "Registration Form" is not. If everything is still just getting used to matter. It took me a while until I found my way around, but now I've understood the logic. Probably I will as usual focus s.den last post.
That you can now add (multiple) images, and format the text, is a real improvement! Also, the ability to subsequently change already, once submitted contributions (typo I often see only 'after') I like that. :-)
Who fits in the future that not any "non-operating scrap" (Keywords: earn money with e-mail) ends up here?

I think it's a good compromise between the old form and the other usual forums. It is at least individually, no single look.
But one thing I would like if possible:
