I have the exact same system - Dual dual-core 275 to an arc 1120 8 x Maxtor Maxline III 250 GB in Raid five and 8 GB Corsair Ram
Most of the programs and am very disappointed - may well be that many of the render but then the four cores to exploit the "normal" work there is usually only a einzellne used ...
So I'm very excited to XSI 5 for the first 64-bit multicore optimized program at all;)

adobe eventually produces neither professional nor amateur tools programs. more something for the would-be yuppies in between.

I have a quad-core 6600 and have risen with the
Performance of premiere pro 2.0 totally dissatisfied. I had one before synonymous duo core 2 (the 6600) and because the render times were fast even by about 10 percent!. the adobe support said that would be used s.den codec. strangely, it is completely no preference was for a project I currently work always the same result: utilization at around 30-35%!
