And would you like to any questions what can I do with my old Hi 8 tapes.
Synonymous Can I buy a new digital camcorder and watch my old movies, or do I need to buy a used old again, possibly Hi 8 camcorder.

Some (not all!) D8 digital camcorders can playback analog Hi8 and Video8-tapes and digitize even here. A recent device of this kind would be of TRV480E Sony:

But when are you only about watching the old tapes, has a used Hi-8 camcorder probably cheaper.
