I have an internal 40GB hard drive, an internal 120 GB hard drive and an external 200 GB USB 2.0 hard drive. Then again, the formatting is announced, I wanted to know what would you recommend how to divide the hard disks.
As a video editing program I use Pinnacle Studio 9
Processor: AMD Athlon XP 1800 +
512 MB + 256 MB + 128 MB DDR Ram
new OS, formatted: WinXP Pro
Please help me!

I would do it this way: All hard disks are formatted NTFS. The 40 GB will drive c:, the external building a 200 GB internal 120 GB internal and external.
On c: get the operating system WinXP (without SP2!) And the Program. Nothing else. Ggf. You can download the 40 GB synonymous in two logical drives, each with 20 GB divided to the rest of the capacity to be able to use or otherwise.
On the internal 200 GB hard drive, first you will save one

Why should I make an image of drive C:?
And where data (music coming out pictures ,...) and games?

In fast calculator or simple transformations of the film material are often synonymous, the hard disks of the bottle neck.
So I would, regardless of (the size of the fastest plate as a capture plate probably use the 200 or 120 GB). Here are synonymous, one could make a 20 GB partition for Windows on it.
If Pinnacle a "tmp" directory, I would port on a different disk not just another partition (create).
Similarly, I would make sure that when you convert my cut, ... Footage result as eg MPEG synonymous landing on the second RECORDS.
Reason: Two plates are independent (both s.besten MASTER s.EIDE) and thus provide a better stream. By contrast, a plate with two different partitions would be a barrier to the transfer between the plates themselves.

noted that Adobe Premiere is recommended not to install the operating system disk.

And I knew I did not synonymous. According to Luke (see link) is recommended but probably Adobe. On my next Calculator I will be doing so synonymous (why not) synonymous.

Well, and "never change a running system", most of us even before the mean synonymous Slahcamforum-restructuring. Nevertheless, the whole thing was worth (which is now synonymous if you can not really compare ;-).

Which version do you have normal or pros?
In normal version you have only 1 video and 3 audio tracks (Pros 2 / 4)
Magix 32/32, WMV can not be imported with S 9, it can import any Magix Mpeg 4th
Keyframes for effects gibts at S 9 / pros do not, but it is possible to surround function at S 9 use (Magix Did not)
Good S 9 could the leaked raw material immediately in 2.4 or Divx Mpeg (plus) convert to Mpeg 2 Magix's only for a quick DVD production.
But the scale and the possibilities of Magix is really good, although in some of the Ligos encoder could not really convince.
Or Premiere Elements would recommend to synonymous.

Hi Jan,
I think that goes a Schnittsoftwäre 's Flóahreppur not. He would have already. But perhaps you're right that this Magix software, probably a little uppity.
Without knowing all 3 Programs, I would probably resort to Premiere Elements, as a possible upgrade to Premiere Pro produces the incorporation of potentially likely to be not quite so hard.
