I have the digicam "SonyDCR THC-17E. My spare battery, original SonyNP FP-90 is not used was three months in the cupboard. Was therefore never charged.

The message of the camera actually indicates that the battery does not take a chip set has, or it is defective. If you still have warranty (or guarantee) to the Battery, reclaim him. There are supposed to be fake Batteries in circulation, you bought the battery at a reputable dealer?

under certain circumstances, only the contacts are dirty and the camcorder can not exchange data with the Battery. This can then lead to the described error message.
Sometimes it helps to remove the battery two or three times from the camcorder and reconnect. If it does not help to clean the contacts once with a soft cloth.

Have exactly the same problem with the original Sony Battery NP-FP 90 s.meiner HC85E. Already a 2nd Battery bought - always the same problem! Both were ordered directly for me. Send it now to guarantee.
