I got me a few days now with the issue of PC configuration for DV editing employed. I use Pinnacle Studio 10 and have a Sony Mini-DV Camera.
Alternate For me I have the following config collected:

Mini-DV can be synonymous with a 3 year old calculator edit.
What DVD Burner is concerned, since I now prefer to use external devices with USB2 connection. Calculator come and go, the burner will remain. Otherwise I would have an external hard drive for backup with buy, there are external hard drive enclosure with USB2 and Firewire port.
And it is recommended that the system disk mirroring, which is a S-ATA on the motherboard RAID1 + dual plate.

MiniDV can, in fact, with his 2GHz P4 absolutely unnecessary edit. The difference is only in his rendering times. Why then spend 800 ¬?

I have an old PC with 1.8GHz Lidl and 1.5 GB of RAM. I stürtzt the studio declined steadily. Once the films are longer than 10min, the work simply no fun anymore because it takes forever. A new PC anyway, I will up, so why not buy something sensible?

The Quad is completely unnecessary. C2D 8xxx - the cheapest 8200 or so - and is entirely sufficient for some applications faster than the old Quad. Boxed synonymous fan goes, if you do not want to over clock great - if NEN other, then Zalmann copper cooler.
The power supply is much too large - less is more and more as a 450/500W PSU brand does not need oxygen - rather on energy efficiency in mind - should be subject to over 75 - good power supplies to the 85th

What would you recommend? Which Manufacturer of power supplies are good?

Seasonic, Cooler Master, Zalman, Enermax ... as I said, more than 500 watts should not be necessary.
