Frage von jbl:Hi,
relating to I've already read a lot (; interchangeable lens, different archiving approaches, different codecs, etc.).
We are looking for a camera for training videos. So far, there is an old Panasonic NV-GS400 by firewire directly into the calculator with Adobe On-Location (; next then with Premiere CS4 + Media Encoder). I'm from maintaining this workflow.
Basically, we almost always enough SD resolution, since the videos are quite small in size to the web.
From what I read, both can play directly Cams SD via Firewire, ie the down-conversion takes place hardware in the camera. Is known, which makes the cam better SD signal? Is there a qualitative difference between XDCAM (; EX1-R) or HDV (; Z7)?
I think times have that Runte computing has in the editing software better than the SD signal, provided directly from the Cam ... Know the context but not exactly.
In an emergency, I part of the Firewire workflow, but only if it have to.
Before coming completely different hardware recommendations: XLR - are in need.
Am grateful for every tip!

The Z7 you can simultaneously including HDV and DV / DVCAM record (perfect for undecided), and they, in contrast to the EX1 a very good audio limiter s.Bord. Whoever takes up Language, appreciate it.
Decent CF card (for the Z7 as the Transcend 64GB/400x, five hours for 120 EUR), I would prefer SD cards via adapter s.der EX at any time. If EX, then rather SxS cards, too many people crying bitterly because of lost footage by cheap now and very often counterfeit SD cards. The s.Rande only.

If it ONLY goes to the SD resolution, both cameras are a waste. For that I would get some second-hand - such as the Panasonic DVX100, which makes very good in SD 16:9 (apart of the stupid 4:3 representation of the screen).
Otherwise, I would prefer the proposed models of the EX1. No anamorphic HDV, 1 / 2 "sensors, native chip resolution without pixel shift, better light sensitivity, better codec.
