PPro gets on my nerves constantly defective project files??

Hello, editing the last few days and a larger video project now had often find that my project files are relatively often faulty and no longer of Premiere can be read: "The project is obviously damaged. It can not be opened". If I had not enabled the automatic saving or would regularly draw more copies (yes, a burnt child ...) I would be pretty screwed. Of course it may happen that when you save what does not - but as often as I now had in recent days that can not really not be? I am speaking here of 3 of 5 files. So slowly I lose confidence in the reliability of the program, now I am worried that I can not always rely on the copies or auto-saved files. Am I the only one that goes to the way or there are other such cases? Work with version 1.51 on Windows XP Professional SP2, the project files are stored on an external USB 2.0 HDD (NTFS).

A few weeks ago I had exactly the same problem. The HDD was all this a funny noise. And did these error messages constantly.
Still do not know what it was, would in any case, nothing more on the external store and out of work there.

So funny noises does not make the record and found the check is now synonymous nothing to structural defects, etc. could indicate the record. Still, the auto saved files and copies the same directory and are indeed available (fortunately) to read ....

So I see that now is not as reprehensible, my gigabytes s.Videodateien pack on external disks. The works-in addition to the previously described problem quite well. And I can not imagine that it is because I like to USB-HDD save .. ? Crashes, I have not synonymous with PPro yes. is certainly not objectionable. It appears only more frequent, that the problems with projects of ext.HD are very much greater than for projects int HD. This USB is more critical than FW. It is synonymous with being locked unique drive letter always comes back to memory leaks. That is why I use the ext. only to ensure ready "films," the data or DVD images. Gruß Jörg
